Judges' Award For Metro Melbourne - Saratoga Townhouses
As the first homes to be fully designed, built and managed in-house by Wolfdene, the Saratoga Townhouses project’s win was all the more poignant.
The developer, which scooped the 2016 Judges’ Award for Metro Melbourne, had previously built estates through partnerships, and they too had won UDIA awards.
But striking out on its own with the Point Cook townhouses clearly proved no impediment to success.
Judges in this year’s UDIA Victorian Awards for Excellence said the 44 Saratoga townhouses “were a standout for a number of reasons”.
Wolfdene’s project created options for buyers in the intermediate market, reduced mortgage stress and built a diverse socio-economic community.
Stage One of Saratoga Townhouses, 25km southwest of the CBD, sold out “well in advance of construction completion”, the developer said.
“This was an encouraging result given the market in the urban growth area is still being educated on the advantages of medium-density living.”
The features of Saratoga’s two and three-bedroom homes include many with a northern orientation overlooking a 9000sq m park, offering great views of the natural and landscaped surroundings.
Wolfdene ensured its project responded well to Wyndam Council’s urban design standards, while retaining a contemporary architectural style.
Additionally, the townhouses are dotted with striking touches, such as a polished timber staircase, six-star ducted inverter heating and cooling, European kitchen appliances, ample storage and a lockup garage.
