Wolfdene was proud to participate in the formal opening of the Regional BMX Track and Sports Cycling Pavilion at Casey Fields on Sunday 25th February.
As major sponsors of the newly formed Casey ‘Wolves’ BMX Club, we were invited to attend as City of Casey Mayor Cr Geoff Ablett was joined by State Member for Cranbourne Jude Perera MP in declaring the $3.48m facility open to the public.
“We believe sporting organisations play an essential role in a happy and healthy community,” said Wolfdene Director Jon Atchison.
“The sense of belonging that comes with being a member of a club and the engagement it provides people of all ages whether participating, helping or just supporting is so powerful.
“The City of Casey and the State Government should be congratulated for continuing to add to the already amazing facilities here at Casey Fields,” he said.
More the 750 BMX enthusiasts were there for the first BMX Victorian State meet on the day, with nearly 300 riders of all ages competing.
The custom designed track, which will host state and national competitions, features a 5 metre start hill with electronic start gates and four straights of exciting terrain and a state-of-the-art timing system.
“Given its proximity to our ‘Pavilion’ community (located directly adjacent to Casey Fields) which will be home to over 1,500 residents, we were excited to jump on board and support the club in its foundation year,” Atchison said.
